Besides watching Grady Sizemore's attempt to hit 50 long-balls this season, watching Cliff Lee start in tonight's All Star Game in Yankee Stadium will probably be one of the final highlights of this season for most of us Indians fans, being that spring training has already started.
Lee, who was sent to the minors for most of last season and was basically written off by everyone in Cleveland, has a 12-2 record and a 2.31 ERA in 18 starts this season and if he keeps pitching the way he has, the Indians could have back-to-back Cy Young winners. Lee will start the game for the American League, while Ben Sheets will get the nod for the National League.
Tribe center fielder Grady Sizemore is a reserve for the American League, and since we're on the subject, how about Grady's homerun last night that looked like it might have a chance to leave the stadium? It got kind of lost in the madness that was Josh Hamilton last night, but Grady's shot to right-center looked like it might have a chance to leave the stadium, which apparently no one has ever done in Major League history, although, most people who had the chance to see Josh Gibson play say he hit one to the subway back in the day. With over 800 career long-balls, I believe it.
