First and foremost, I'd like to send out apologizes to all the Bengals fans that may happen to glance at this post. Believe me, as a Browns fan, I feel your pain (screw you, Tim Couch/Gerard Warren/Courtney Brown/William Green).
This upcoming year marks the first year for Arena Football League action at Quicken Loans Arena, as the Cleveland Gladiators make their AFL debut on March 3, 2008 when they take on the New York Dragons at The Q.
Also making his AFL debut could possibly be Peter Warrick, the fourth overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
I was still fairly young when Warrick was at Florida State, but when I watch highlight videos of him like the one below, I remember the dominant player that he was and that people projected him as the next great NFL wide receiver. But as we all know, he didn't really live up to the hype and he was last seen as a wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks before being cut by them last season.
It is still up in the air as to whether or not Warrick will actually play for the new Cleveland AFL team. Earlier this year when the team was still in Las Vegas, Warrick was placed on the "refused to report" list by the franchise when he didn't report to the team's week one game. It seems doubtful that Warrick will actually suit up for the Gladiators this spring, but the possibility is still out there.
Anyway, Peter, if you're reading this: We'd love to see you here in Cleveland! I would definitely pay $10 to go watch him play.
